We are a group of dedicated classics readers who enjoy a book for the overall experience and don't take ourselves too seriously.  In other words there are no English professor types.  We really just want to read the books that are considered classics so we know what's going on and what they're all about.  We look forward to meeting anyone and everyone who wants to take part in discussions of great books.

As most people know, people with English degrees* (writing, literature, undergrad, grad, even English minors), rarely are employed in our chosen field of awesome words and sentences. This creates some serious English-class withdraw, leading to awkward social situations when we reference obscure or archaic works of literature or theory, or try to analyze something to an absurd degree.
